TORI CROMBIE

Owner/Director

As an Instructor Tori raises exceptional young artists. They can be seen touring in regional & national stage productions, on television, in college dance programs, choreographing for dance companies, throughout the pages of magazines & catalogs, in prestigious tap programs, & more! Her choreography is consistently recognized throughout the country for it’s unique approach, powerhouse performers, and unparalleled imagination. Professionally, Tori has been a regular contributor for various dance publications including “Dance Spirit”, “Dance Studio Life” & “Dance Magazine”. She is equally proud to be a consulting member of the “International Dance Educators of America” to teach and educate other Instructors & Owners on developing exceptional programs, curriculum, and a higher standard in dance. Forever a student, she consistently re-certifies with the “Royal Academy of Dance" the world’s oldest and most prominent training program in classical ballet methods and most recently started establishing certifications in "Radar Technique" + "The Godfrey Method".    
 
Far beyond any awards or accolades, she is most proud to be a part of her students lives! From the littlest faces, who are a constant source of light & wisdom to the oldest dancers who spend 15 years of their lives gracefully growing between these walls. Whether or not they plan to pursue a professional career in dance, she takes great care in making sure they leave this program with a voice, a deep appreciation for the arts & music, and the confidence to conquer the world proudly themselves! 

Tori Crombie is a Nationally recognized educator bringing 30+ years of experience to the art form. Growing up right outside of Pittsburgh, her dance career took off at a young age studying Tap, Jazz, Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Theater (voice/acting), Gymnastics, & Acrobatic Arts. She studied under the direction of Pam Wright with Wright Dance as well as the Morgantown Ballet and the WV Civic Ballet. As a young professional dancer Tori had the opportunity to travel all over the country and perform with the Apollo Theater, American Tap Dance Foundation, the Walt Disney Corporation, ESPN, Neil Simon Theater, the Universal Dance Association, at the White House, as well as many various film & stage productions with legends such as Susan Stroman, Ray Leeper, Charles Kelley, Dianne Walker, & the late great Gregory Hines! 

After winning the prestigious "Diamond Choreography Award " at the age of 18, Tori's path for teaching became clear. She attended and holds a degree in Dance Education & Pedagogy, with a minor in Kinesiology, from Kent State University. While in college she performed with the Kent Dance Ensemble, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Parsons Dance, Sean Curran, and received the distinguished Kennedy Center Grant for "Young Choreographer of the Year" at the American College Dance Festival. 

Crombie opened the Toriography Dance Company with her incredible Mother, Grace, in 2002 and continues to run it in her honor proudly celebrating 21 years in business!

ANGELA MIA BRAVO

Instructor - Ballet

Born and raised in upstate New York, Angela Bravo began her dance training at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute. Spending her summers at prestigious programs such as Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive (Melinda Roy, Roberto Munoz) and Syracuse City Ballet (Kathleen Rathbun), she performed Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco as well as the Little Stars Lead in Stars and Stripes. Angela attended Belhaven University, under the tutelage of faculty such as Ravenna Tucker- Wagnon (Royal Ballet), Caleb Mitchell (Houston Ballet) and Vincent Hardy (Complexions Contemporary Ballet) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Post graduation, Angela moved to Connecticut to join Vivid Ballet under Elizabeth McMillan which later became Ballet Hartford. She has had the honor of performing at the White House and participating in various festivals around the United States. Angela is currently a Company Member at Ballet Hartford under Artistic Director Leyna Doran, faculty member at The School of Ballet Hartford and teaches master classes at local and regional studios.

MADELYN CYR

Instructor - Foundations

Madelyn is a proud Toriography Alumni, dancing 15 years and graduating on stage in 2021! Throughout her time at the studio she was a member of the Toriography Dance Company training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary. She began teaching during her Senior year and is thrilled to be back at the studio to continue! Today she is a Junior at the University of Connecticut majoring in Psychological Sciences, looking forward to graduating in 2025 and then continuing onto grad school. Outside of the studio Madelyn loves music and spending time with her dog "Winnie"!

EMMA LUXEMBURG

Instructor - Tap + Broadway

Emma is from South Windsor, CT and a recent graduate of Wagner College having studied Musical Theatre. She’s been honored to work with students of all ages and abilities from many different dance studios, competitive dance teams, high school show choirs, and theatrical companies; choreographing full-scale productions, performance sets, and teaching various workshops. After becoming a part of these communities at such a young age, she enjoys being able to give back to the people that have helped her become the performer she is today. Most importantly, she finds great reward in developing the talents of the next generation of performers by offering them the challenging and award-winning choreography.

STACEY RICHETELLI

Instructor - Jazz

Stacey Richetelli is a native of West Haven, Connecticut. She graduated from Montclair State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance performance.  As a member of the MSU Repertory Dance Company she has performed in the works of Larry Keigwin, Martha Graham and Camille A. Brown. Stacey’s formal dance training began at the age of 2 at The Dancer’s Studio under the direction of Sharon DiCrosta for fifteen years along with her high school studies at The Education Center of the Arts in New Haven, CT. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, and Hip Hop. In the summer of 2015 she was awarded the Craig North Memorial Young Choreographer Award from the American Dance Awards. Stacey’s summer training included multiple summers at the Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts. She has also been a member of Kids for Kids Dancing for Life, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting many children’s charities. Stacey has started a new chapter in her dance journey as a judge for a couple dance competitions and loves that she is able to share her knowledge with amazing dancers along the New England area. She started teaching in 2017 at The Dancer’s Studio, StudioOne Dance Center in Branford Ct and Neighborhood Music School in New Haven Ct. Along with teaching dance, Stacey will be going back to school to continue the love for teaching. She will be going to Southern Connecticut State University to get her Masters in Elementary Education for K-6. Being a dance teacher has given her the tools and strength to become a regular educator.

KATIE SCHENKER

Instructor - Ballet / Pointe + Technique

Katie Schenker is a classically trained ballet dancer and graduate of The Hartt School. She holds a BFA in Dance with an Emphasis in Pedagogy. During her time there, she performed works by Balanchine, Fokine, Petipa, Limón, and Humphrey. She also had the opportunity to perform original works by guest choreographers Charlotte Griffin, Gemma Bond, Viktor Plotnikov, Gregory Dolbashian, and Erin Dillon. Katie received her early training in Connecticut at New Haven Ballet, Nutmeg Conservatory, and Academy of Ballet Etudes. She attended numerous summer intensives including Boston Ballet, ABT, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Danish Dance Masters, and Julidans Festival in Amsterdam. Katie lives in Hartford, CT where she teaches, choreographs, and performs as a Resident Artist of The Dance Collective, a growing new company that empowers female dancers and choreographers by providing leadership opportunities.
