Company Policies
Commitment
Students entering into this program are ready to make a commitment to dance. Training requires consistency & dedication, because of this we require strong attendance. Dancers that are heavily involved in another activity or sport that will conflict are strongly advised not to audition. Toriography will not move the schedule or permit extra absences around another activity or sport, this must be discussed/handled with the other party.
Attendance
3 absences total are permitted from Sept-June. This is outside of school required events, illnesses, or national holidays.

Students must be on time and will not be permitted to leave early/come late for other activities + sports. If either occurs, it will be considered an absence (even if Parent's fault). If dancer exceeds the absence policy, they will not be permitted to continue regardless of time of year. There will be no refunds on entry fees or costumes paid.
Events
Dancers are required to attend all events scheduled for their age group. For competitions set aside the full weekend, a schedule is not sent until 1 week prior. Your attendance is required, if another activity comes up on your end later in the season this is your 1st commitment. Competitions do not take schedule requests unless they are religious in nature (ie. dancer's communion) or prom.
Membership
Yearly Program Membership of $150.00 is charged with card on file September 1st
Classes
This is a full year program, dancers will be assessed during auditions and placed in the appropriate classes for their age/level. Some routines will be taught during class, while others require separate rehearsals (note- this can include Saturdays)
Fees
Dance at this level is expensive, it is an investment. Carefully consider tuition payments, costumes, entry fees, convention fees, travel, etc before auditioning. We require on-time payments + deadlines met, the card on file will run for all fees. Parents must maintain good standing in all fees (we do not carry balances). Cards declined twice will result in removal from the program.
Placement
All decisions made in regard to placement, classes, and routines will be at the studio's discretion in the best interest of the dancer's individual plan and the Company as a whole. Student's do not grow at the same rate and their path will differ from their peers. By participating in Company you agree to trust the professional opinion of this program. Toriography does not accept emails from parents or dancers to question placement
Ballet
Committing to this program will require:
• Dancer taking Ballet seriously and working hard in class
• Dressing correctly (attire + shoes) at every class
• Arriving with a proper ballet bun (clean, tight, not a messy bun)
• All Ballet classes must be made up if missed within 2 weeks of absence in this program (school-required events or injuries with a doctor's note are excused)
Injuries
The studio must be notified of any injuries that affect their ability to dance (including breaks, sprains, fractures of any body part) A doctor's note is required if they will/will not be able to participate and any restrictions. Another note is required when they are cleared to resume. NOTE - no dancer may attend class in a brace, cast, or sling (no matter how minor the pain) without a doctor's note.
Dancers that become frequently injured or falsely use injuries as a means of not taking class may not be able to continue with the program at the owner's discretion.
Communication
All correspondence must come through the studio directly (ie. questions, scheduling private lessons/solos, etc) Instructors will not be contracted directly by email or phone/text.
Behavior
All dancers must maintain proper behavior in + outside the studio and set a good example for all students. There is a higher level of expectation from Company members. Respect is to be extended to Instructors, other dancers, and family to family. Toriography will not tolerate student to student issues, being a part of this company requires professionalism at all times.
Observation
There is no observation in this program, dancers should be dropped off + picked up promptly at the end of class. Toriography will designate dates during the season for parents to attend and watch progress.
Family
Toriography considers the whole family when determining acceptance (or re-acceptance) into the program. Parents must show a commitment to their training, a trust in the decisions made for their dancer, and volunteering when needed. This company does not tolerate "dance mom" behavior. If you become difficult to work with, unhealthy for the program (in front of or behind the scenes) or make choices that undermine the decisions made for your dancer you will be removed/not permitted to audition again.

Parents that are separated/divorced/split time with their dancer must handle all arrangements outside of the studio. Both parties must agree upon the schedule, requirements, and policies before committing.
Training
Students in this program cannot enroll in another competitive dance program/studio or to compete as an "independent" during the 25-26 season. We do however encourage you to participate in workshops and master classes throughout the season. See Tori to discuss and for guidance on decisions appropriate for your dancer.
Volunteer
Parents are required to help during competition season (set up at events, building/painting props, loading/setting props, driving truck, etc) and/or during Showcase weekend. Lack of participation will affect future membership in the Company. We strongly advise connecting with other parents in your group and working together to build a strong community.
